BeatPaint is a web‑based tool that combines free drawing, real‑time audio analysis, and music‑synchronized visual effects. Load an image, paint zones with a brush, eraser, or mask, and assign any of the 30 built‑in effects to each zone. Everything reacts instantly to bass, mid, and high frequencies from your track—or you can tap in the BPM manually.

Key features

  • Zone‑based painting: brush, eraser, and mask with adjustable size, opacity, color, and texture stamps.
  • 30 visual effects: Flash, Shake, Particles, Glitch, Wave, Zoom, Chroma, Strobe, Bloom, Pixelate, Invert, Radial, Trails, Tint, Poster, Sepia, Hue, B&W, Contrast, Edge, Swirl, Mirror, Scanline, VHS, Kaleido, Drift, Push, Breathe, Noise, Halftone.
  • 16‑pad launchpad: each pad stores an effect with editable parameters (intensity, threshold, trigger, color, effect‑specific settings).
  • “Original colors” mode: effects preserve the base image’s palette without tinting.
  • Spectral‑flux beat detection: adaptive onset detection for bass, mid, and high bands, plus live meters and a spectrum visualizer.
  • Flexible audio input: load MP3/WAV or capture system audio.
  • Canvas zoom and pan to work on fine details comfortably.
  • WebM video export with audio and PNG frame export.
  • Import/export JSON presets, pad randomization, and a default 16‑effect starter kit.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: P (paint), E (erase), M (mask), V (view), Space (play/pause), 1‑9 (select pad), L (launchpad), 0 (reset view).
  • Retro dark UI designed for live performance or studio creation.

Perfect for: VJs, music producers, visual artists, streamers, audiovisual performances, and anyone who wants to paint with sound.
