Pixel-Collage is a browser-based creative tool that recreates a traditional paper-cutting technique digitally — no installation required, just open and drop an image.

The process mirrors a physical collage method: your photo is automatically mirrored and flipped to build a 4-panel symmetrical grid, then sliced into vertical strips that are reordered in a specific pattern (first from the left, last from the right, second from the left, second-to-last from the right…). The result is then rotated 90° and the same cut is applied again, producing a final image that feels like a portrait seen through fractured glass or a woven textile. You have an example with my dog Siro =D

Features:

  • Works with any image format and any aspect ratio
  • Two independent cut passes, each with its own size and width/height ratio
  • Four edge styles: straight, wave, zigzag, and organic random
  • Instant preview — tweak the sliders and see results in real time
  • One-click PNG download

Inspired by the analog paper-weaving portraits technique. What I like most about this technique is that it looks like a person behind glass.
