Tachón is a browser-based dice game for one or two players, played on a single sheet of paper. Roll the die, split the result across the other side's characters, and cross out squares until only one side is left standing.

It is a small turn-based duel: quick to learn, tense to finish, and playable on desktop or mobile. Play against the AI or pass the device between two players.

Examples

Workflow

1. Pick a mode: Only 1 plays against the AI, 1 vs 1 is local hot-seat.
2. Configure the match: Choose characters per side, sizes, and rules.
3. Roll the die: Click the tray or press Space.
4. Cross the opponent: Click characters to spend each square of your roll.
5. React to wasted rolls: With Erase crosses on, click your own characters to undo marks instead of passing.
6. Win the sheet: Eliminate every character on the other side.

How the Game Works

Each character holds a vertical stack of squares. When you roll, the value must be spent entirely on the opponent's living characters: one pip, one square crossed. A character is eliminated when every square on them is crossed. The last side with someone standing wins the match.

Wasted roll: If the die value exceeds the opponent's remaining total, the roll is lost by default. Enable Erase crosses to spend it on your own marks instead.
On kill: Leftover pips after eliminating a character are either carried over to other characters, or discarded, depending on the On kill rule.
On erase: Erased squares go back to the character they came from. With Allow dead, an eliminated character can be brought back.

Game Settings

Mode: Only 1 (vs AI) or 1 vs 1 (local two-player).
Characters: Number of characters per side. 3 to 10.
Size: Random gives each side a different mix, Equal uses the same square count for every character.
Range: Minimum and maximum squares per character when Size is Random. 1 to 8.
Squares per character: Fixed square count when Size is Equal. 1 to 8.
On kill: Keep crossing carries leftover pips to the next character. Leftover lost discards them.
Wasted roll: Lose turn passes the die when the roll exceeds the opponent's total. Erase crosses spends the roll on your own marks.
On erase: Standing only restricts erasing to living characters. Allow dead also revives eliminated ones.

Tips

Watch the remaining count shown under the scores. Rolling above the opponent's total is a wasted turn unless Erase crosses is enabled.

Keyboard shortcuts: Space rolls, Z undoes your last cross, M toggles sound. Theme and language buttons sit in the tool row at the bottom of the side panel.

FAQ

Q: Can I undo a cross? Yes, during your own turn, use the undo button or press Z. Each press steps back one mark.
Q: Does the game save my settings? Yes. Theme, language, sound, and the last configuration are stored in your browser.
Q: Can I play on mobile? Yes. The layout adapts to portrait and landscape, and the die tray, tool buttons, and character figures are all tappable.

Compatibility

Runs in any modern browser with JavaScript enabled. No install, no account. Works on desktop and mobile.
